Igor Eduardo, a left-back from Três Rios, is back in European futsal. The player has signed with Amigos de Cerva, a club competing in the second division of the Portuguese league, and has already arrived in Europe to sign a one-year contract. At 32 years old, Igor Eduardo was with Criciúma, where he participated in the 2026 Campeonato Catarinense and Copa Santa Catarina. His last European stints were with Jagiellonia Bialystok in Poland and Bastia Agglo in France, where he played for four seasons.

His long stint in Portugal was between the 2015/2016 and 2017/2018 seasons. There, he played for Póvoa Futsal, Boavista, Eléctrico, and Ossela. Igor Eduardo had been receiving offers to return to the country and accepted the challenge, signing with Amigos de Cerva.
- Portugal was my first home in Europe, the first country I could visit, so I have a lot of love for Portugal. My son was even born here in Porto. I had been planning to return to Portugal for some time, so we are very happy - said the player.

In the 2026/2027 season, which starts next week, Amigos de Cerva will compete in the second division as well as the Portuguese Cup. On August 23, the club will face Porto in the Troféu Henrique Escusa Futsal pre-season friendly.
- It's a club that last year had an excellent season, competing among the best in the second division to become the Second National Champions. They are very strong every year. An invitation was made, the conditions were very good, favorable, and as I know the championship is very competitive, I accepted the challenge and I am very happy - he concluded.
